Hey guys! I’m looking to add a iwata to my collection. I will be using it only for clear. I want to know which one to get and what the differences are. I have come across the ws400 ls400 and they are also offered in evo or hd? Also entch? Also should I get a 1.3 or 1.4? Or should I just forget the supernova and get a lph400?

    Thanks guys!

I have the ws 400 evo with the hd 1.3 tip . In my opinion this is an excelent clear gun. I also have an lph 400 with a 1.4 and an orange cap. It does a nice job also but I like the supernova better particuarly for hs clears. I would sugest that you demo any gun before you buy it . These guns may or may not do well for your spray style.

I use the ws400evo 1.3hd as well and I love it. It seems to shoot pretty much any clear well that I have tried. Its more of a compliant/rp style gun and I find its abit slower then the ls, but that suits my style being abit slower I find I’m very consistent. My coworker uses a ls400 for clear and recently bought the entech tip set for it and used it for a couple month then swiched back to the silver tip again

Have you tried the 1.4hd? I demo’d the thing and found it to drink the clear so I opted for the same setup that you have. But I have found myself wishing that I had more speed out of the thing. But it does do a good job at laying the clear, as long as it is clean.

If you want more hand speed out of a supernova you will have to tweak the fan in ,they lay wide and flat and softly which reduces hand speeds but covers more area ,take the fan in a couple of inches and you will get the speed you want from it

I actually have my fan dialed in to turns and it works great
