I`m a mechanic (auto technician for the modern) based in Canada. I have a limited knowledge of bodywork, most of the bodywork I needed I would ship out to a body shop.
I have very little experience in all the paints types, solvents, mixing ratios, gun settings and everything else so I`ll warn you all – I will have many questions!!!!
I did make some steps the other day. I added a DA sander and a gravity fed gun (both good brands and pneumatic) to my tool box!
April 26, 2010 at 6:04 am #20879I am a mechanic also. I decided about 8 years ago to learn paint and body to so that I could clean up used cars that I was selling. I also learned so that I could expand on the side work that I used to do.

Yes I`m looking forward to doing some painting but also a little apprehensive because bodywork is so visible. I love a good challenge though!
Jimmo, I came across this site as I checked out your videos on Youtube. Good job man.
April 30, 2010 at 1:12 am #20961Hi fella.
I started out as a mechanic before moving over to the dark side. Best move I ever made, as you just can’t beat the satisfaction of seeing a job well done 🙂
