Hi Guys,
Anyone ever use the Menzerna polishing system. I’ve purchased some product from http://www.eshine.ca – I’ve been using the Norton system and am not happy. It’s full of fillers and I’ve had to redo some polishing as things that I thought were polished were not. I was watching some professional detailers working on some high priced cars and they swore by there products.
I learned a tone about detailing and polishing this weekend. I was watching this guy (http://belladetailing.com/ferrari1.html) – he knows what he’s doing.
Anyone here use the stuff.
November 21, 2011 at 5:39 am #34322It doesnt get much better than Menzerna polishes and compounds.
Get some Powergloss, Super Intensive polish and Superfinish. Very good 3 step system. Also Meguiars 105 and 205 work pretty good also.
November 21, 2011 at 10:05 pm #34332i have been through quite a few gallons of meg 105 and it is a great compound BUT of any compound i have ever used that has the most fillers of any of them. panels will look flawless until a day later and you’ll have to go back and buff tons of dull spots.
November 22, 2011 at 7:12 am #34333Since they stopped making 3m extra cut ,I have started using Farecla G4 for high solids paints.I have to tell you that polishing Sikkens Superior 250 is like trying to get concrete to shine, almost impossible.Since using G4 you can polish superior like the old ms clears with little effort. You use a “real lambs wool Pad”to get the gloss back and finish with a red foam pad.If you wish you can go over it with G10 swirl remover but just swithcing pads and using the same polish is all you really need 😉 :cheers

well if you didnt sand with a rake you wouldnt need that extra cut :rofl :rofl
but really, I though superduty and zymol was where it’s at :whistle:November 23, 2011 at 12:20 am #34337I know this as I’ve used the system for a couple of years. I don’t polish a lot (cause I don’ t paint a lot) but when I do, I get unpolished areas showing up after a few weeks (couple of washes). At first all looks well (I’m quite careful with my polishing) then my imperfections show once the fillers rinse off. My way of dealing with this has been to either use an alcohol wipe or spend more time with each buff to be sure I’ve not missed anything.
November 23, 2011 at 5:35 am #34338I have switched from 3m to Mirka c20. I like it alot, its supposed to be followed up with their f05 polish but I am not real impressed with it.I still like the 3m stuff for the #2 and #3 step.

November 23, 2011 at 6:10 am #34340I have not heard anything on the 3000 trizact being discontinued. If it has though give eagles bufflex system a try its the same or better and less than half the cost.
November 23, 2011 at 8:29 am #34341Thanks for the info Jim – I’ve been lurking on eBay trying to find a little of the Trizact. I’ll look for the Eagles Bufflex system a look.
November 23, 2011 at 8:30 am #34342
I like the 3M system as well. Even though its expensive i thought it was worth every penny. I used it for years but my jobber is telling me the 3000 trizac’s are discontinued. is it true?
if ya dont think the 3m aint full of fillers i have news for you 😉 😉 😉 myself i use malco trugrit with an inch an a half wooly an mid cut it with a yellow foam with malco buff lite 2 then glaze it if its a light color i just jump past the glazeNovember 23, 2011 at 8:50 am #34343Thats the truth. The 3m perfect it compound is the exact same stuff as meg 105 with a little less fillers. It is less but still in there.
