Making the move over to Sata RP from the HVLP NR2000 guns.
What tip is considered a good, all around setup for clear? I usually spray Glasurit, PPG, and I will also spray some budget clears on occasion.
Any differences in the RP3000 vs the RP4000?
I have been reading 1.2 is real nice in the RP3000/4000 gun, but most of Satas paint charts show 1.3?
My NR2000’s are 1.4, so I plan on using them for my base guns, and the RP for clear.
Any opinions?
December 3, 2010 at 9:48 pm #25770well for me ive been using the 1.3 …..but i think next ime i buy another rp i will go with the 1.2
December 4, 2010 at 12:15 am #25772I have a 1.2 and a 1.3 setup for a RP3000 and I find myself going for the 1.3 a lot more than the 1.2.
A 1.2 works great with certain clears but the 1.3 will work with about any clear.
December 4, 2010 at 6:48 am #25818i do find w/the ppg clears i use. the 1.3 does seem a little slow. some times i wonder if i get enough film build w/it.
I think some of it will depend on your speed and distance…I spray a jet90 with a 1.4. moving on bud…. :exci :exci
Tried 1.3 in my plus gun but went to 1.4 cause I can speed up….I spray more than one kinda clear too…
Have to admit I never ran the 1.3 but I cut and buff most everything anyways no big woop… :woohoo:
Like 1.4 in anything top coat.i got a 2000 hvlp 1.3, love it, but i must say the 3000 rp 1.3 for base or clear i like it a lot it,s taken me some getting used to but now that i found an air pressure that works for me i got the rp dialed right in to the point where i can panel paint a bunch of metalics without question, i had posed that i was looking into some other guns but i ended up changeing my mind after talking with a friend of mine that was used to the rp’s and soon realized i was useing them totaly wrong due to being used to hvlp for so many years, i will say you wont regret buying one just hang in there for a while cuz like i said i didnt like it at first but now im a big fan, and it seems on this site a majority of people are die hard sata users, them crouts know a spray gun:stoned
