I have new lines in my shop, and the single thing that made the biggest difference was making the line right out of the compressor go up 8′ in the air. My big water trap is right there, and after the compressor runs a couple days I still hardly get a drop out of the filter.
Makes perfect sense to me.. :pcorn:October 16, 2010 at 7:35 am #24255
move the filters down to the end of the hardline.
put fall away from the filters and tee in 2 or 3 traps in the hardline.
might want to add this…
I have this stand alone with a gun filter….very humid here and never get fisheyes. :woohoo:
order over 100 bucks and get free shipping..
dude we got these in our body shop, and in the old paint booth. i’ll help you out with the filters. we used rolls of toliet paper. can’t remember if it was the double rolls or reg.
really we did use rolls of tp.to the op. our filters are at the end of the airlines, located next to out booth. we have this filter on our system, and depending on how much you use, you can get 3 different sizes. i change it out once every 6 months. it really works well. i know you can get the kit at carquest, but i will post a different link just so you can see what it looks like. the price in the link is about the same at carquest.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WIX-ACK20/October 16, 2010 at 7:39 am #24256also i almost forgot to mention. the filter is just like a car oil filter. so you need to put a dab of oil on the o-ring before mounting it on. or it will blow off. and no you won’t have to worry about fisheye’s, oil on the o-ring not on the threads.
Should maybe consider fitting a dryer, second hand ones can be picked up pretty cheap
here is another link with a simple shop set up, may give you some ideas
