Hello friends,
good day to all
im from Pakistan. i dont know standard terms name for body repair elements but i will explain my case in simple words.
on my very first DIY i have modified my 82 Honda Accord myself. i replaced the front bumper with 98 Corolla bumper and the rear one with Suzuki Baleeno. i used very cheap conventional gun for spray. i used habanero red( honda City shade) though my first project did fine but one thing really confused me.
here in Pakistan we apply steel putty to surface then we apply primer to it and then soft putty called deeko putty is applied for minor dents. and finally we apply the primer and then paint. i did the same but i noticed that my putty parks have been raised after paint job( on back bumper). any expertiseregards
kukiWhat kind of putty and primer?
Sounds like the putty is absorbing solvents.
Use only putties that need a hardener and
use only primers that use an activator (hardener).
Otherwise you’ll have shrinkage issues, not swelling.
Hard to say without knowing your products.[quote=”JCClark” post=20871]What kind of putty and primer?

thank you clark for your reply.
in fact i have not use either of material.
what i use and how i use is as follow.
first i used the putty which comes with hardener.then i sprayed a cheap primer which did not need hardener.then i adjust the body with a soft putty which dont need hardener. then sprayed the same cheap primer.and finally paint and immediately after that clear
now as days are passing i am noticing the some marks are bulging out but some are going inside.
i just want to know what causes these two phenomena.Im going to say that all your problems stem from putting to much wet product over each other to fast with no flash times. Also you should be using putties and primers with hardener in them this will also help you in the future. But we all had to learn somehow and your giving it your best. Try some new products and see if it doesent help. practice on something first.
