Hi, i`m looking to get a new clearcoat gun, i`ve always used a GTI, but would like some different opinions on various models that you guys use. The product we use in work is sikkens, cheers

I’ll toss a vote in for the Sata RP. My top three for clear would be:

    1. Sata RP
    2. Iwata W400
    3. Devilbiss Plus

I’m alright thanks, as far as I know they are different guns. The supernova i believe is available here too but I haven’t used it yet. The W400 looks just like the LPH400 if your familiar with it but is a compliant version (opposed to HVLP / LVLP) that handles high solids products better.

My vote is the Sata RP. Iwata would be second. I use Sikkens products also and find the Sata gives me a little better results than the Iwata.

Our W400 over here is different than yours. It has the wedge cut fluid nozzle where as the UK version doesn’t. Our W-400lv is the same as your W-400wb2.

If I was gonna go for an Iwata I would look at the WS400.

Sata 3000,HVLP, 1.3 tip. That gun is my favorite for sikkens clear, LOVE IT.

I cleared one and ONLY one car with my Sata 3000 hvlp. It was soooo slow. I fought it like no other trying to get it not to peel.

I use a sata rp 3000 with a 1.4 for clear, and also a first gen sata rp with a 1.4.I like the rp for speed and they atomize HS clear coats very well.I don’t mind using hvlp for waterborne but you couldn’t pay me enough to use one for clear, painfully slow

I use the Sata RP 3000 1.3 and it lays the clear out real nice. Real user friendly too you can adjust it so you can lay it out like glass or give it that factory peel.

Hi my name is Phil iยดm from germany … i used Sata 3000 RP 1.3 and a Devilbiss GTI Pro 1.2 for clear (HS Clear Coat). But the new Supernova is the best gun i ever used. With this gun you get the clearcoat slicker than ever before…..

These are my 3 favourite clear guns. I have the Devilbiss Plus and love it. I do however
agree with the order. The reason I have the Devilbiss and not the SATA is simply because
of the price. I can great a great finish with the Devilbiss and cannot justify the dollar
difference between the other 2. The only complaint I have about the Devilbiss is that in
order to get the same quality finish as with the Iwata and SATA I have to use a little more
pressure, which reduces transfer efficiency (causing you to use a little more product and
have a little more over spray).

You have good luck spraying metalics with the RP? You get any mottling or cloudyness?
