I haven’t heard much about it,not sure if they made a new line or just revamped the old one. They did make new metallics that were in the test market over 2 years ago so I suspect thats what it is.The old stuff works pretty good and everytime we make a jump to the newer version it is an improvement,(autobase to autobase plus to autowave etc) Im looking forward to hearing more about it,maybe Ryan knows more.

Like Jayson stated Autowave MM 2.0 is a new line of metallics and binders. It was launched in May in our region. Ive heard it is a big improvement

As stated it is new metallics, flop controller and binder. They are easier to spray than the current toners, but with that said the current toners are easiest thing I have ever sprayed.

It is not available in North America now, just Europe.

When I was using Sikkens, I remember one of the tech Reps vaguely mentioning something about this. That was just under 2 years ago. He did say we would eventually see it replace what is currently being used.

The vagueness made it sound like an entire update to Autowave… Like “Autowave Plus.” With revised binders or what not. I’m very curious to hear more about it whenever anyone has more details.

There was an article in the latest profit newsletter about the mclaren super car and it made a mention if the new auto wave that Akzo formulated and they were using on that car

Its good to see paint companies working to make good products even better. I know it must not be cheap to introduce new systems, however they also don’t want to fall behind in technology or product performance.
