I’m new here so better say hi first, how is it going.
So this is my first question about component setup. I brought some PLC air connectors, and being air connectors I just assumed that they would be air tight. But the Female Plug (Tailpiece) I have connected to me Mini Spay Gun is leaking air even when I put some PTFE Thread Seal tape on it, and I am also getting an air leak from my Sealey SA2001/FR – Air Filter. Am I using the wrong kind of Thread Seal tape, and is this a common problem PLC connectors.
Any help advise welcome please.
October 19, 2012 at 6:00 pm #38699Hello and welcome, im new to the forum myself but i do know about thread tape, are you wrapping it around the thread the correct way because if you go the wrong way it comes off, also it may need more than you think to make a good seal so dont be afraid to pile it on. This may be obvious to you but thats all i can think could be causing the leak regards case.

As said, try using more tape. Wind it in the direction of the thread and go around at least 6 times if it’s a non-tapered thread. If it still leaks, go round another few times.
