I have a 2006 Mazada 6 that i purchased about 6 months ago. Anyways i recently looked on the back discovered the paint was peeling and my coworkers said water had gotten under it and thats why it was bubbling and growing/peeling more. I just want to know what my options are to stopping/fixing this ugly peeling paint. I dont have the money to repaint the entire bumper(how much would that cost anyways?) but I def want to stop it and maybe add touch up paint to make it look a little better but just want to explore my options. Here are some pictures, Thank you!
Also my spoiler is rough looking as well, It was like that when I bought it so Im not too worried about it but what are my options there as well?
I appreciate any responses! ThanksAttachments:October 19, 2013 at 10:43 am #45004Sorry to tell you, but there is not much you can do. The only way to fix the bumper is to sand off all of the paint job that someone put on the bumper. It looks like it was not properly prep or was damaged and the paint flaked off, or both. If the paint was damaged and that caused it to start flaking off you might not need to strip off all the paint but that is the kind of thing you can’t tell from pictures. The same goes for the spoiler. It needs to be sanded down, primed, and re-painted.
