I have a chance to pick up an Onyx HD system for cheap just wondering if it is worth playing with or if I should stay away from the stuff.

it’s the hardest base coat to repair. hands down. so unless you never ever run into anyproblems at the base coat level than get it. to give u a better idea, put some lint or hair on a detailing clay bar and try to sand it out with some 1200 grit. :chair :deadhorse

i dont have any issue sanding it, try a pice of 800 grit da paper by hand ,base needs to be blown dry.try to go only 1 direction when sand or the base will tear ,some times.

I agree with sagikun, I find it terrible to repair. I want to throw my gun at the wall just thinking about having to sand that basecoat..lol.

The system isn’t too bad to use otherwise once you get use to it. There’s a definite learning curve with it, Its nothing close to as good as diamont was in solvent.

(I’m day to day with this stuff..lol, on a good day I love it & a bad day just shoot me!)
