Hey guys, I am buying a shop that comes with a booth. I was looking at the filters and see that they are ready to be change out. I measured them and they are 20×20. I was wondering, whats the best way to go about this, buy the roll and cut to size or buy the 20×20’s? I want really good quality. I don’t spray a lot of cars like production shop do so I dont mind having a better quality filter. Looking for name and place to buy the from if you can suggest anything.

    Thanks.

You didn’t specify they were the intake or the exhaust filters, but here’s my 2 cents worth.
Intake filters should always be pre cut. Less chance of pieces of the filter coming off and into the finished product. Exhaust filters doesn’t really matter as much because any stray fibers “should” be pulled away from the work.

As far as sources, I have a local guy that I get my filters from, But he does deal nationally. So far he’s had the best prices as far as I can tell.

    Hi Jinx,

I’m happy to see that you acknowledge the importance of quality filters. In addition to quality, you will want to make sure that you are using the appropriate filters for your booth. The best way to make sure you have the right filters is to use the ones recommended by the manufacturer of your booth. From there you should be able to find a local distributor in your area that will sell you these filters, and provide any maintenance or booth cleaning, if you need it.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks guys, and gal. 🙂

I didn’t mention the intake or exhaust because I needed all of them. I guess I should have been more specific. Anyways, I will call the paint booth manufacture and ask. Sorry to take so long to reply as my computer is down and I am borrowing one now.

No problem. Hope that helped! If you’re still looking for filters, GFS sells excellent filters for most booth models, not just our own. Sorry for the shameless plug. 😉
