I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with this color, paint code is RBD it is on a 2013 Nissan Altima. I am spraying Sikkens ABP and go to pull it up in the computer and I cant even get a mix for it. I called the help desk and was told that this color requires a special effect toner that they dont have at this time. I had Dupont come down yesterday and scan it and it wasnt even close and I also had them try it in Standox and it looked way green.I have some field formulas from Sikkens that I could blend out if I had to but it isnt right. I have the rep coming down from Debeer this afternoon to take a look at it to see if he can do anything with it. Any ideas?
Thanks

Not really a very helpful reply, but I tried! :lol1
March 13, 2013 at 2:15 am #42068my Akzo rep said it had a special toner in it as well. he said he has a formula. they tinted one the other week that was for a bumper cover job that was supposedly spot on…

Attachments:March 13, 2013 at 2:27 am #42074The top one is rm diamont solvent and the bottom one is rm waterbourne
Attachments:March 13, 2013 at 2:30 am #42075In the rm mix I can only see that the cb54L an bc1265 which are pearls may make it harder to match but they are old pearls in an 2013 colour
March 13, 2013 at 2:36 am #42077I’ve busted looked up on rm for a greener tint and we have the same problem in the solvent saying a special tint is needed which is the scb tint
Attachments:Pretty sure Dupont (Axalta) or Standox can mix this color with the use of one of there limited use tonners. Did you check the paint code in Standox or just use the camera. This color will not look right without that one tonner. Good Luck with it I hope you come up with something.
March 13, 2013 at 5:32 am #42089We had the DuPont rep scan it for us yesterday and the DuPont only came up as one mix by the scanner and the sprayout was way off, he mixed us some up in standox and it probably could be blended but it looked to green to the panel. I don’t have any experience with standox as far as their color tools so I don’t know if the color could have been adjusted or not.

I ran into this color a couple days ago. I had to replace the rear bumper on a 2013 Altima. The bumper came in raw plastic oem which I like because the paint always matches better on raw plastic. I know that sounds weird but it is true. I spray Spies Hecker Waterborne. There was only one variant and no color chips. I did a spray out card on the metal cards designed for waterborne paint. The color was very green. Spies mixture if I remember right was basically black, a small amount of blue, lilac pearl and green pearl. with a few other things like flop adjuster and binder etc.. I tinted the color a little at a time and did new sprayout cards as I went. (with clear). I ended up replaced half of the green pearl with fine white pearl. after 2 hours and various other adjustments mostly with flop adjuster and adding more lilac pearl and some other things I cant remember I got the color to match perfectly. I check my sprayouts with a 3M sungun and in regualar color adjusted light and in real sunlight. I know it sounds like a pain in the butt, but it had to be perfect, which it was when I was finished. Basically the spies hecker formula was way too green so I tinted it. it is possible because I did it lol. pain in the butt. cool looking color though.
