Just wondering where in the Uk I can get hold of those containers with lids that the pro bodyshops use? I don’t need a whole paint system just some of those containers, if you can get them at all?
I must have about 60 tins in the garage and some of those lids would just make things sooo much easier, not to mention less waste.
Hope you know what I’m on about.
Cheers

Mixing lids yes, if you can get them, or perhaps something similiar, without having to buy the whole set up?
Called at three paint supply places this week and they just stared at me  Local bodyshops seem reluctant to tell me where they get any of thier stuff too

ta be honest i think if i didnt have a bench i would like ta have em for my primers an sealers an such an just run em with a drill beats the snot outta using a stir stick an pouring out of a full gal can that an there cheap here i think i get the gal lids between 15 an 20 buksFebruary 14, 2011 at 12:01 am #28459They do tend to be supplied by the paint manufacturer when they install a mixing scheme, so often your local supplier won’t have any. Some are tin-specific too, so won’t necessarily fit where you want them to.
For water borne base you can buy very similar ‘pouring’ lids, without the mixing paddles (water base doesn’t need stirring up like solvent), but again they’ll be supplied by the manufacturer with a scheme. You’ll still have to remove the lids to stir the paint each time you use it though (assuming its solvent) which is a messy business with those kinds of lids, so as Ding says – a bit useless really.
My best suggestion is to keep an eye out for a bodyshop that’s closing down or changing scheme.

I would just use the free shaker i got instead. the paddles dont scrape the crud off the bottom. thats why you need to shake new cans before putting them on the bench then stir multiple times during the dayFOR mixing large cans of primer you could use the mixing stirrer that plasters use to mix there stuff ,and put that on the end of a drill. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PRO-HEAVY-DUTY-PAINT-PLASTER-MIXER-STIRRER-PADDLE-WHISK-/380314642047?pt=UK_Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item588c84e67f
my jobber sells them but I only asked about the Quart lids and they are $8.00ea there the dedoes lids either with the ears or the gear set up
my jobber says most people just take the plastic ears off and use a drill (when in a bind)or dont have a rack
works great I have done it myself- AuthorPosts
