Thanks, I am using das sealer but I may have a problem, I used the one choice plastic prep system, and the surface just didn’t look right after doing the prep, I then applyed the das sealer, it looked blotchey, or something like fisheyes without the craters, or like spots all over it. So I wet sanded the sealer and re sprayed it, Still looks like spots on a lepoard, is that normal, after preping and sealing a plastic ?
Thanks, for the help
October 16, 2013 at 3:48 am #44974Thanks,
Yes it is PPG das sealer and it is the second coat, I have never seen anything look like it before, but it is my first time using the ppg prep system. Thanks

October 18, 2013 at 2:42 am #44987I always thought flex agent was only temporary. Like only flexy for a few days. No info to back it up though.

Some are like PPG’s. others that are true elastifiers are permanent like the ones used in akzo systems or basf

I always thought flex agent was only temporary. Like only flexy for a few days. No info to back it up though.
So you mean Nexa has the real stuff. makes sense since it’s a good European paint line :pOctober 20, 2013 at 5:14 am #45005Good to know! I bought a few old 1970’s Honda ATC 70cc three wheelers and I was considering painting the plastics. Would need something that would stay flexy.
ici/nexa do have a really good flex additive that remains flexible
Dunno about over the pond in the late 80’s early 90’s quite a few cars were fitted with soft foam filled lip spoilers.
These were very soft you could pinch them beteween your fingers and they would compress like a regular sponge.
Add the flex additive and amazingly the paint would stay intact and not split or spider web.
