So, the painter quit last week. Now there are just us 2 bodymen in the shop. We have been slow, so we decided instead of hiring a painter we would both just prep and paint our own jobs. I haven’t used these Sikkens products before (autowave) so today I tester it out…

had a door I repaired on a 2010 Silverado and replaced the fender. repaired and Primed it yesterday…

also cleaned up an ugly used tailgate…

Loaded up the booth (bumper and fender for a Camry, black…tailgate, white…repaired door and new fender, silver). It was easier to take the door off the truck, that way I could do it all in one batch and not have to move vehicles around.

    And the finished product:

All in all it came out well…always room for improvement though. Now I just need to get use to the product a little more a get a better “flow” to my work :cheers

    Great stuff.

I’m guessing you’ve got a real good airflow in the booth, otherwise you’d be risking colour transfer between the panels. Certainly makes the most of the booth doing multiple jobs like that :rock

Yep. I did some more jobs today, a couple white and a dk metallic blue all close to eachother. Had to hold my breath when I was spraying the edges, the overspray was getting pretty close to the other parts, but nothing landed on the other parts! The booth is old and well used, but functions just fine.

Thanks for the comments everyone! :cheers

we also paint different colors in the booth on occasion, big time saver, and that what our game is all about selling time.
