    Hello everyone,
I was wondering if the US collision repair shops use waxes after polishing/compounding jobs?
In Europe painters tend to use one-step systems or maximum two steps. Nobody uses waxes. When I say “waxes” I mean protective glaze or sealant. Do not confuse with swirl removing product.

    Regards,

    Alexander

No, generally you want to wait 30 days before putting on any type of wax so the solvents in the paint can fully come out before sealing it with a wax

Hi Dear.. Its your choice to perform polishing or detailing go hand in hand or one after another. But, ploishing and detailing are both equally important.

Most clears have a 90 day full cure period ,I advise not waxing them until that period is up ,machine glaze is different and allows the paint to breath but is only a temporary out the shop finish and will be washed off easily unlike true waxes which seal over and create a more durable protective layer

I use a one step product menzerna FG400 , I haven’t used anything that comes close to it
