im in an ongoing project to paint my car, and i am thinking of buying one of these but i just dont know witch one to use since ive heard great things about boths. i just really havent heard actual painters opinion on these clears? any thoughts? recommendations?
The 2042 is a compliant clear for califonia and the 2002 clear is a good speed clear out of dust in 15-20 min using DFX11 hardener but takes 12 to cure at 70 degrees F(unless you got a heated booth) I have been hearing about the Shopline clears like JC660, JC661, JC60 Spraying like DC3000 Clear but Cost Half the Money I havent checked Prices on this but they were claiming to 100-150 for the setup (gallon clear and quart hardener)I will ask the rep tomarrow what current prices are maybe someone else can chime in and give better info
December 9, 2010 at 12:46 am #26025ive seen some shopline clears but i was told that the shine of those dies of real quick! all im really wondering is witch clear is the best, i dont mind paying a good amount for a good clear!
December 9, 2010 at 2:20 am #26026honestly nothing wrong with either one. 2002 is a little bit thicker than 2021. both spray and look very nice.
December 9, 2010 at 6:14 pm #26041Glaso stuff is nice but 923-109 isn’t that great,I would much rather use 2021,more user friendly.Since you brought up other clears,Lesonal glamour clear is about $150 a kit(it looks awesome and stays that way,and it’s high solids),Sikkens HS+ is also nice, and superior 250 is the bomb…but it’s for water only.

Dont listen to Jay. He just doesnt like Chip Foose and Foose uses BASF products so he hates those too :p :p :pcorn:December 9, 2010 at 6:44 pm #26045$450 a gallon. Man someone is getting butt raped. It’s $197 for 5 liters here. I am not sure there is a clear out there I would pay $450 for.
You will have good luck with both 2002 and 2021. They are both nice clears. Are you shooting in a booth or a garage?

You’re right on that one ryan. But maybe he’s adding in the $100 give or take per quart of hardener. that will put ya closer to 400-450 but that would be for 7.5 sprayable litersDecember 10, 2010 at 2:31 am #26056[quote=”ryanbrown999″ post=16059]$450 a gallon.
