    Hello,

I was curious if anyone had any experience whatsoever with both the PPG Deltron Concept DCC and Pro-Spray Single Stage top-coats, and could comment on how they compare? I am restoring an MGB, and I am looking for a single-stage top-coat in order to refinish the 2-tone metallic silver/satin black RO-Style wheels. Here is a photo of the wheels in question:

I am aware that a BC/CC would be much easier to spray for the silver, but the area I am trying to spray is small, and all of the BC/CC re-sprays that I have seen performed on similar wheels have looked strange… Definitely not period at all, which is why I want to use a single stage. PPG Deltron DCC and Pro-Spray Single Stage are two of the better top-coats that I can get locally that are available in both solid and metallic finishes. Any assistance choosing between them would be greatly appreciated…

I am sorry, but I cannot comment on the Pro-Spray. I have used Concept, though. It is a fairly easy to use S.S. and is durable. Obviously not the #1 choice for metallics, but I think for wheels you could get the results you are looking for relatively easily. If you prep them properly and use a good etch then sealer, they will last for a very long time.

Unless the Pro-Spray is better priced and someone can attest to the product, I would just go with the PPG, I am sure you will be very happy with it.

Thank you for your reply! Your thoughts on the subject were similar to mine. PPG is ridiculously expensive in my area (Glasurit is actually cheaper, and not by a small margin!), and the Pro-Spray does work out as being the more economical product, though I wanted to see what people thought of it before I went that direction. From what I read DCC is the more tried and tested product, however, and if no one steps up and says that Pro-Spray is its equal or better I will certainly go for the PPG product. I really appreciate your assistance.

well if you can get glasurit and it’s cheaper than ppg why not just go with 22line :pcorn:

Don’t use either of them and use utech 200 or 3.5,they are just as good if not better and easy on your wallet too :cheers

The Valu Pro probably would not be as durable as DCC try delta or starthane
