PPG Delfleet – Essential and Evolution

Hey, just seeing if anyone here has used or is using Delfleet Essential or Evolution? What are your thoughts, comments,and what have you found works for you to get the best results? This is a new system for me and though the finishes are good for a value line, I feel they could be nicer. We use single stage pretty much 98% of the time, with high production fleet trucks single stage seems to be quicker, more cost effective, and more convenient. We used to spray Sherwin Genesis single stage and though it was a little tougher to learn, once you got it, like almost anything you could lay glass with no problem.
It’s always a treat when a rare job comes in that requires base clear!Our shop had a delfleet system for about 4years,the only reason we tried it was the reps said it would match imron elite colors on peterbilt,kenworth,freightliner etc.In the 4 years we had it not once did it ever come close to matching a factory color,we ended up ordering imron instead.Our shop felt it was not a very nice user friendly system and we got rid of it.The 2.1 voc clear was pretty nice.I felt the single stage(essential) was thick like molasses and didn’t spray very well.If you have an akzo noble distributor you could look into utech 3.8,sprays nice and tough as nails and fleet colors as well as oem are available.We have since put in an imron system for the big trucks.Just my 2cents.
Thanks! Yeah our color match hasn’t been the greatest either.:unsure: Unfortunately, I don’t believe we have an akzo noble dist around here, and to make things worse, we just had the delfleet system installed about a month ago, so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon 😡
The new Sikkens BT LV650 line is really working well. It has a fantastic basecoat clearcoat and single stage system as well as the epoxy and highbuild surfacer and sealer. Another cool thing is all the products use the same hardener and reducers.
yes it is a nice product but they still need to work on their color match to peterbilt,kenworth,freightliner,volvo,imron colors.once they get that dialed in it will be great
