Today i tried out ppg global 893 clear coat. i was amazed at the turn out of the job i tried it on. although it was just a bumper and quarter.

Curious of how far i can push the 893? i did a 2 panel job and loved it. Also wondering what other clears of globals might be worth a shot. Keep in mind im in a high prod shop so cant wait a week to cut and buff! :kofee

im used to using mainly 2021 and dc3000. the 893 flowed very well. felt like i didnt have to force it as i did with 2021 and 3000. I have heard some clears are the exact same as globals line. curious to which ones those are that are possibly the same product as the concept or dc lines in a can labeled global…. :stoned

One thing is for sure tho. the 893 was definately not the same product… liked it much better!

When I used Global, the 893 was used on most jobs. With the slow reducer I’ve nearly sprayed a complete with it. Otherwise there was the 894, which was also great but I would pretty much reserve for large jobs and/or hot weather. There us a speed clear, but I don’t recall if I ever tried it. I was happy with the 893 so I never really bothered with anything else.

Glad to hear you liked it.
