Here’s an interesting article about brands expected to waste away in the next year….. possibly…….
At any rate, I thought it interesting. :teach

January 8, 2012 at 7:26 am #35176their just pissed cause folks don’t know them like dupont is well known. however their clears do die, in a blink of a eye too.
ya the 9.1% increase this year was a bit crazy. but they got balls enough to charge that much they are not worried about pissing anyone off. I highly Doubt that they will go out of buisness but like the article said it was not looking at the company as a whole just the parent company meaning the plate glass side.
January 8, 2012 at 9:08 pm #35182Their income is irrelevant if they are spending beyond it they are posting a loss. That said, suggesting several companies “successful in their own worlds” going under because their holding company remains unknown to the masses is ridiculous. It’s not a holding companies job to be a brand name. that’s the brands (companies in holding) job. This article might have come off as more legit if it didn’t take the woes of Sears and Kodak and try to say all these other organizations are having the same problems. IMO an easier target would have been Dupont or Basf and I don’t think those guys are going anywhere this year either. Kodaks problem is they failed to capitalize on the digital craze and have faded to black. My favorite argument is the one for steelcase.
”They make wonderful products. They’re a U.S.-based company. They’ve been able to withstand the ups and downs of the office furniture industry. I just don’t think they have a strong corporate brand.”
. well holy shit lets shut er down people because that guy over there who doesn’t know his head from his ass said that we don’t know how to sell billions of dollars of furniture to corporate offices every year even though we have been successfully for years. thank god for the business insider :wak
