cause it’s kinda funny that every new gun len sells is the best ever, and everyone over there drinks the kool-aid. Sata’s were great until he stopped selling them, the durablock was great, the Plus gun was the best ever, The CVi, then the tekna, now sagola. Hard to take seriously when the bullshit is so deep

Yeah I really do understand that. And I do know how people get fed up with it.
But I posted every primer I have sprayed, how I did it, the order I do it, and the outcome. Also provided pictures (not that you can tell anything from them). But my oppinion should be as valid as anyone elses. And I guess when i said “best primer gun ever” it was because i was just really excited. As you know I plunked down plenty of money on these guns, so i was and am stoked at how well this primer gun sprays. I can see everyone wants it to fail, and if I am to mention them, I will have to go the extra mile to prove it.

If I have no chance, I will delete my posts on it, and make another one stating “I use the Sagola and it is fine” and it can mean zero to the OP.

The fact that you say it is the best primer gun EVER and then say that the only other gun you’ve used for primer is a finishline, VOIDS any credibility to your opinion/statement. This is where the problem comes from.

It may very well be a nice primer gun and the best that YOU have used…but I have a sata that is almost 10 years old that still sprays primer well. Replaced the $10 distribution ring in it a few months ago. Will you be able to get 10 years out of that Sagola without having to replace a lot of parts? Maybe so..maybe not.

There are many CHEAPO guns out there that will spray primer nice and smooth….but you have to buy another one every couple of years or so if it sees a lot of use. Mine gets used just about every day.

I think somewhere earlier I stated the Sata was the nicest one I have used. I will state why,

I have used a Devilbiss PRI, Iwata LPH-440, Sagola 3300, Sata KLC, Sata 100B RP, Sata 100B RP, 3M Accuspray, and 2 different Sharpes as primer guns. I have mil tested all of these except the KLC and Sharpes. If I take into the texture, amount of primer sprayed in contrast to the dry film thickness and the speed and ease of use. The Sata wins easily. I have no bone in this fight either.

Now this is for the products I spray so it may differ for you. I have to agree with these guys saying something is the best is ok, but you better have something to back it up.

I do agree with you though, the Sagola is a nice primer gun. They make some well built products.

Ok that makes more sense. And you brought up a good point I hadent thought of. I was wondering what you guys used for sealers. I would hate to throw sealer in my base or clear guns (only ones I have with 1.4 tip). Not much sense in having a gun dedicated for just sealers. So haveing a primer gun with extra nozzels for different materials would be the way to go for sure.[/quote]

Why would you hate to have a dedicated sealer gun? That is the foundation of your paint job. I would say it is just as crucial as base or clear. If your sealer is rough as a cob your base and clear will map it.

Personally my sealer gun of choice is an Iwata Supernova Hybrid with a 1.4 and the gold basecoat aircap.

I don’t use sealer enough to warrant having a dedicated gun for it. In fact I’m not super happy having the 6 guns I do have.

my nr2000 with 1.4 works great for sealer. If you clean your gun well after each use, there is no reason you cant use your base gun for sealer. thats what I do

You listed 2 Sata guns. Which one did you find to be the best? I would like to give it a try myself to see the difference.

I would have to agree ding. Nr 1.4 for sealer. And base. I fell in love with this gun! And I broke down and got a 300 needle nozzle set. Yes the one I paid 50 bones for….

I use a Sata 3000 HVLP for base and sealer. I bought a used Finishline gun yesterday for $20. Put some Landau black interior paint in it. That works great for a guide coat gun. That paint will be left in the gun at all times.

The SATA 100 rp 2.0 tip is a great primer gun. I tested the 100 hvlp with a 1.7 but seemed to use a lot of air and was slow. The rp version puts primer down smooth and fast. I still have my old klc-p with a 2.5 that thing is a hose, love that gun too. But try the 100 rp it rocks
