This is my gallery for my project GrandAm, it was metallic bronze with dents all over when I bought it. I will be refinishing the car with white paint, and bronze wheels. Check my profile to see who I am and what I’m all about! Student in TSTC autobody program with 4 years experience, looking for work in collision repair at a good shop/dealership. Progress so far: dents repaired, spots primed to prevent rust, emblems removed and ready for primer, will be fully primed this week with more photos.
Attachments:February 15, 2011 at 7:11 pm #28515Um don’t know about the profile pic  This is an Autobody forum not gonna pick up anyone on her (maybe ben :lol1 ) Just kidden Ben 😉 But welcome to the board. Alot of great guys and info here :welc
Yea bro spread that filler on a little wide but sanded it through and primed it, tomorrow I’ll post pics I just got done scuffing the whole car up earlier today going to prime it all tomorrow.

looks like I get it from everybody now…:lol1
…looks like a good start on the Grand Am
OKAY, profile pic changed sorry if you’re really a fag ben but thanks for the compliment. Anyway the photos didn’t upload right from when I primed it today I’ll put them up tomorrow for sure. Gonna take probably a couple weeks of sanding before it’s ready for paint.
Don’t have the down time to strip it. I’m not just a student at TSTC with just that on my mind. I live 50 miles away from the school, live with my mom and brother, work over 40 hours per week at mcdonalds, pay rent and bills, and attend school full time trying to actually get a job at a good shop or dealership. So I have to do what I can with the time I have.
February 17, 2011 at 4:13 am #28621
guess they dont teach you guys how to take anything apart.. Would make sanding go much faster if some things were removed..
Good call Joe :rock It also makes me cringe when people put filler or polyester putty over paint, that just leaves sand scratches, and an uneven surface to prime over.If you ask your primer to do to much eventually you will get shrinkage.Good job for first time, keep it up and you will learn.February 17, 2011 at 5:09 am #28624good to see you put a shirt on. Also good to see someone your age busting their but to pay bills and also trying to get some sort of education. The helper I have at my shop is more content at trying to find reasons not to come to work :wak
Sad thing is in a lot of those tech schools they dont teach you how to take anything apart. keep going to school and keep coming here and you’ll have a chance of learning some good stuff 😉
OKAY, profile pic changed sorry if you’re really a fag ben but thanks for the compliment.
