I replaced the rear section of the frame rail on a 1995 Nissan 4×4. it had been hit at the hub and rearwards. The spring doesn’t appear to be bent. It measures the same from eye to eye as the other spring. The problem is the shackle folds rearward until it rests on the frame. Any idea on what might be causing this?

December 24, 2009 at 6:04 am #18244how much of the rear section did you replace. almost sounds like one side is shorter than the other. how are your measurements on the frame?
Well assuming sure made one out of me!! I cut the rail section from a parts truck. After measuring and checking I found everything matches the dimensions except the shackle mounting bracket. It’s 1.25″ forward of where it should be. I’ll cut it off and move it and that should fix the problem. Thanks for your help!!!
