Anyone have any good tricks at getting double sided tape off body side mouldings? The ones that give me the most fits are the ones for Chevy trucks. I hate it when they are taped up and left on the vehicle when the vehicle is refinished. But when we have to take the old double sided tape off to reapply new tape it always ends up being a pain. I have tried taking a razorblade and cutting off the old tape off and it ends up chewing up the molding and takes forever, I have tried an eraser wheel and run it real slow and it ends up chewing up the molding, I have used the 3m adhesive remover and that does a good job but you end up using so much of the product. So whats the trick?

We use a product from ez mix called mould prep. Its not cheap but works great. You use it in a soaking tray and submerge the mouldings in it for about a day or so and the tape usually wipes right off. There are some mouldings they sugest not soaking in it it but you can do most of them.
