AnonymousNovember 7, 2012 at 12:52 am #38930im pretty sure it has an extremely long shelf life, i dont imagine that would be the source of any problems. if it sits for a long time as isnt shaken before using then thats another thing.
November 7, 2012 at 3:17 am #38933I was using RM years ago. The supplier made the labels by hand and few were dated. I reccomend you date the tins as you purchase. Shake, shake shake, gone to seed.. it’s bad. Lot of factors. I have paint from 5 years ago that MAY be ok. You never know until you shake and inspect. Bill
November 7, 2012 at 12:47 pm #38952Ok, I’ve got a fleet of round 40 fiat vans to repair for a postal company. So 1044c UNO HD has been chosen colour. It’s like silicones but I don’t think it’s that as I’ve changed tins of degreaser and clothes. And put the mixer on first thing. Even putting the tints tins in the booth to warm ready. It comes up in the first coat and through out. I changed the tints to new and cleaned the mixing paddle as well, I tried a different shade and it didn’t happen big had to replie 1044c over due to the shade being to cream, soon as I remixed layer down 1044c it started again. That’s when I started looking in to the dates on the tins lol help 🙂

x2
I’ve yet to experience this but I do recall a training instructor talking about this happening if a hardener goes bad….if i have experienced it i likely gave my detailer shit and blamed him until
i burned threw the hardener. :pNovember 23, 2012 at 12:29 am #39364I found out to correct the problem with the 1044c paint, it was due to a tint that had split from the cold weather so it’s been replaced and all fixed. Having checked every tint 🙂 till it reacted
