I usually use a rubber wheel in my drill for pinstripe and double sided tape removal. I have used one of the tools (like below) and liked it a lot better. I know the Snap On one is ridiculously expensive and Wurth has one as well that is a little expensive.

Do you guys know of anyone else who makes one, preferably more reasonably priced?

I checked out a bunch of dynabrade tools carefully at SEMA – dear god, those things are amazing. I think I will save my money for everything I can get from those guys. Great tools. :rock

    Ben, why go cheap? :deadhorse

I’ve used the solid rubber wheels in a drill and melted the paint right off a bumper  :rofl

Imo they are generally the best. I have never been disappointed with anything from them.

The rubber wheel on the drill works fine, but the other tool is a little easier to handle and when doing large areas makes a big difference. I don’t want to go cheap, but the Snap-On is overpriced. The Wurth is a little pricey. If I can find a good tool for a better price I will buy it.

the dynabryde one is the best. Snap on wanted 500 for their version. you can get the dynabryde through autobodytoolmart for under 400 with all the wire brushes and for about 350 for just the tool with the rubber wheel

Thanks Ding. I’ll look into that one. I assume you’ve had one of these for a while?

We use a matco one, same model stamped somewhere else. It works well but if $ is an issue you will burn through $ on your wheels because of the higher speed it runs at. Its slightly harder to feather the trigger but its semilow torque…and the wheels are alot thicker so its hard to detail 2 side tape removal with it IMO end up going over it with a razor blade. I used it alot and still prefer my smaller drill with the rubber wheel. NOW! if your going to remove undercoating or seam sealer there is NOTHING like the metal claw setup in your picture!! AMAZING can’t say enough good things about it.

I have the Dynabrade model and have been very happy with it. I have had it for 4 years or so without a problem. Make sure to oil and grease it. it takes grease by the gears and if you let it go dry it won’t last near as long.
