Why do you say that? Because I sprayed at 15 psi and it turned out fine?

Hey man if it works im not tryin to stop ya. :kofee

Those were cars going back to the dealers lot. Im hoping one or both will still be there in a few weeks so i can stop and have a look at them. Just curious what will become of them. Would help me to know what happens with them after a month or 2.

And just because I tried something different, it doesnt make me an idiot. Look at the pics. Its not like there was an obvious reason that it wouldnt work. Went on clean, layed nice, and got zero pop (so far).

G trying new things doesnt make ya an idiot. But most rep paint companies have guidlines for a reason. All painters cheat it a bit. Learn personal pref ect. But I highly recommend learning the basics first :cheers

I pretty much have the basics down. But ive only done overalls in the past and never jacked with collision work, or jacked with anything really. I was a paint by numbers dude. I mixed by the book and sprayed by the book. Also production was never an issue. It was really however much time it takes to be right is what I did. But now time, material cost, and out of the gun finish are much more important. Also need better product education would help me a lot.

if the sagola has the clear cap then it’s not a hvlp btw. it will be something like the rp or te20 cap on the devilbiss, runs somewhere between 25-30 psi.

What?!! You mean all these guys have no idea?!! But I suppose it could be considered compliant. But sure….not conventional either.

Sorry dud. it’s you that has no idea. you are the one that thought you spent $500 on a conventional gun. Conventional guns have been outlawed for quite some time here in the states. Conventional guns had about a 30-40% transfer efficency and required high pressure (40-50 psi) and thats what you posted up the tech sheet said you needed to run your gun at. Guns for sale now require at least a 65% transfer efficency. either HVLP/LVLP technology or one that is considered an EPA compliant gun. These guns are a big differance from what conventional guns were. You really need to educate yourself before opening your mouth. :deadhorse

I was no more wrong than you bud. Its just as much not HVLP as is isn’t conventional.

If it makes you feel better to belive that then great. However I never said it was an HVLP. But depending on the air cap that you use, the gun is both an HVLP and a Compliant Gun. Both are still a long way away ahead of the 30-40% transfer efficency of a conventional gun.
Again, please educate yourself before opening your mouth 😉
