I still stand behind my post Autobody toolmart does not have the 4000RP (three catalogs ago it was listed but has not been in the the last 2 because it not compliant as of yet even the link timbo posted did not show the RP only the HVLP).
Well your a lucky SOB jayson hope its as good as all the hype,I think im going to pick up an HVLP version Thursday as its all I can get 🙁
Keep us posted on what you think I may wait for the RP if you think its worth it. Tell them you want an HVLP to see how it works with base
which brings up a couple questions I have for you jayson
what are you using it for base? clear? primer? lol what tip did they give you?
December 12, 2010 at 9:08 pm #26108So – inquiring minds want to know. I’m not looking for one as I’m just getting use to the Iwata. I was kidding the guys at Off-Shore about the Foose gun they were blowing out!
well I just stumbled across some auctions on a german ebay site and there selling 4000 Digitals for $515.00us :chair
It would only make sense for them to be cheaper there…
I would have a hard time believing it is worth upgrading from a 3000, though.
you guys are right….see if you ever get jay to admit when he’s off…HA!!
the listing is not identical in description of 3000 and 4000s either…you gotta study it to understand what I’m saying.
standard now is the old non-digital description in the abtm catalogs and it threw me…
The description listing on 4000s are standard and digital…but both are HVLP. Sorry….forgive me?
you guys are right….see if you ever get jay to admit when he’s off…HA!!

you’ve been sick for over a week. you have a good excuse :whistle:December 27, 2010 at 2:39 am #26500I have been spraying with one for the last 2 weeks, there is no comparison to the 3000…the 4000 is that much nicer. The air cap and fluid tip have been redesigned and they have more holes=better atomization. The fan is longer and narrower, the operating pressuere has been reduced to a max of 32 psi but 29-30 is just right. The 4000 rp has less overspray,is 25 grams lighter than a 3000rp and it is whsiper quiet and more comfortable due to the handle being redesigned. You can also change the fan from wide to round in a quarter turn with your thumb.I was planning to do a review with pics but I do not have time right now.IMHO the 4000rp is the best rp yet and I have been a rp user for the last 9 years and have all 3 versions. I have also found that it handles exterme high solids clear coats(sikkens superior 250 or energy pro 250) with ease and uses less material than a 3000 rp.What else do you want to know :stoned
