I love my iwata guns I have a few w200 w400 and supernova each all for different tasks I love them fantastic guns But the others I have not used much to say if there any better
You’ll be fine if you do go on to Debeer then, the area tech (Pete) loves his Iwata’s! In fact after using my ‘nova a few times he ended up buying a pair for each of the tech guys.

I’ve mentioned it elsewhere on here though but after the move to 900+ with the high strength tinters, I found an old SATA 2000 HVLP did a better job with the base than the W400 WBX I had been using, and the ‘nova base gun I tried. I did a bit of work with Pete and he was taking the results to Iwata to see if they could work something out to cure the “problem”. It seems the Iwata’s were just too good, lol, over atomising the base. He was due to try out some different set ups etc but I moved jobs and haven’t seen him since.

Ok since I posted this, I ended up going with the 4000rp digital, not a huge speed difference between it and my copper Tekna that I still occasionally use for clear to to match the more peeled Oem finishes, but about last week, my regulator went it, it didn’t read or even turn on, what do I do? Is it just something simple as the battery or what? Maybe try to warranty it? I’ve only had it since June and sprayed maybe a car or two a week and some small parts. I’ve been thinking about trying the supernova , lph or the w400and to try and save on clear as the 4000 just hoses it. I have no complaints on it other than that, it lays clear really smooth I’ve rarely had to sand any of my jobs unless I get really noticeable nibs.

When I demod that gun u have to half pull the trigger and hold the on button on the regulator then it turns on. Wasny crazy about it for sure

I worked with a guy that used an Iwata LPH 400 HVLP and sprayed clear with it. Also some of the best finish with clear I have seen in person. Never meade any sense to me. Thats a base gun all day! And to boot, it looked like a 25 year old primer gun. Super shitty looking and 50 different colors all over it, and the bottom of the cup cracked so he had masking tape wrapped around it. Sprays damn near peel free…..at least for him it does. I never used it.

I find Iwata guns that I have used so w200 suction fed w400 gravity and supernova clear. All lay paint down with no peel at all and I mean never. I use/ have used them for 2k. Primers. Base and clear. As you can probs tell I love Iwata guns and would choose them every day of the week

I have had quite a bit of trouble with my 3000. It will work or not work, and at times show 7 psi sitting in the rack. I replaced the battery twice and still did it. At the moment, it works though!

I’m not sure what happened, I don’t use a fun washer, I clean them by hand after each spray. I usually just had to pull the trigger some and move the regulator and it would turn on, but didn’t that one time and hasn’t since. The battery didn’t give any sign it was going out, I’m gonna try the batter and go from there and look into prices on iwatas, I don’t have a jobber so looking for the best price is a hassle.

Best thing you can do with the digital guns is buy a good diaphram regulator and ignore the dig. readout. Its probably about the biggest waste of $100 anyone could spend. in fact, I hated my digital so much, I gave it away

I thought you did that cuz it didn’t work anymore 😛

I love my digi when it works. I dont like to have the gun any longer than it already is. Just a personal preferance.

Well I basically got it for the same price as the regular one, and don’t like having the extra regular on the bottom like my other guns so that’s why I got it, so I’m gonna try the batter if not I’m gonna shoot sata and see what they say which will probably be that it isn’t covered under their 3 year warranty.

you cant actualy purchase a new digitil unit for them ,the gun has to be sent in to a Sata service centre at a min £75 inspection/service cost ,i actualy prefered the ADAM guage myself as it allowed for easier adjustment of the airflow

the digi guns are also bulkier and to be honest even IF they do read accuratly who in fact requires a guage to read to such a precise degrea anyway !

I’m going to try the batter if not just send it in, but to the ones who have used Iwata which gun do you feel is fastest w, LPh400, and the supernova hrybid?
