Is there such a thing as a scuffing pad that is long a thin a bit like a sausage shape, that can be mounted in a drill? I have just spent over 1.5 hours scuffing this wheel and it’s still not finished, and I have another 4 to do. I said I’d spray the spoked part gold for my friend as a return favour.

Alternatively, would you risk using adhesion promoter or 2k sealer on unscuffed powder coating?

You could prob make your own get a piece of wooden dowel rod cut a slice down one end then slide your grey scotch into the slice fit the other end into a drill roll the scotch in opposite way that drill will turn and away you go. I used to port and polish heads using this and sandpaper back in the day lol.

The last set of rims I did like that belonged to my brother although he had centres blasted I then primed them and handed them back for him to rub before I painted them don’t think he’ll do another set lol.

Thanks, I had been thinking about a DIY approach similar to what you have suggested.

I said to my mate that it was a nightmare and I’d pay towards a body shop doing them, but so far none of the ones he has contacted are willing. He has offered to help with the prep so maybe I’ll have to try and get some dowel…
