I am new to bodywork and I picked up a used 90-2 with a 1.4 tip to use strictly for sealers. Is this sata’s newer sealer gun bc this think feels like a beast and is pretty heavy compared to my sata 3000?

Do you mean the sata jet 90-2?The jet 90-2 is a budget reduced pressure gun not to be confused with the old sata jet 90 conventional gun,it came out around 2004 or so.The 90-2 could be used for sealer, base, clear,or single stage.

SATA’s newest guns are the 4000 series (in RP and HVLP). Why not use one of these or a 2000 or 3000 for sealer? I’m currently using a 2000 HVLP for sealer and am very happy with it.

Also consider Iwata’s Supernova, the base coat version makes an excellent sealer gun.
