If you try and get too much peel it better be a clean paintjob. I think they look worse if you have a panel full of flat spots and peel everywhere else.
I hear you on that one.
I used to work with a guy that refused to even try and match OE peel. Everything was slick. His argument was like you say, if I have to polish some crap out of it I’ll end up with a flat spot on a peely panel.
Mind you that was way back when we were using a 1.2 suction gun (W200) and MS clears. Flat was easy back then :rofl
February 3, 2013 at 1:11 am #40967I never have “too” much trouble. But then again, I do spray with a Sagola so…. :rock As long as I try to just sand the nib, its not too flat. Maybe one of those little 3m nib sanders would be worth while. Awfully pricey though.
February 3, 2013 at 1:41 am #40969looking good, makes me that much more eager to get my booth in. Jay, your shop doesn’t polish most of that stuff right?
February 3, 2013 at 1:46 am #40972We will touch up obvious runs or some nibs but thats it.Big $$$ restos will get cut and buffed, most times a good of the gun finish is good enough.
February 3, 2013 at 2:25 am #40973That is a beautiful looking booth. I would love to have something like that!

February 3, 2013 at 3:23 am #40975We have one at the shop too,it seems to work ok but you really have to be careful with it.I do like it if your in a hurry.
