why is he aganist blending? does he think it is a painter’s shortcut for a bad match?
Cus some people are just fuked in the head and no matter what they wont change their mind.

What he doesnt know wont hurt him.. Had a customer like that, wanted his door painted no blend was against it at all costs.. Told him I would charge him by the hour to tint the color.. Ended up we couldnt get it matched, spend days on it.. I just told my guys to pull apart the side of the car, sand, blend it out and ship it..Customer picked it up and was so happy the door matched perfectly. Paid his bill and went on his way.. I never told him we blended both ways 🙂 We did do it right though, pull bumpers, moldings, handles,etc.. Might go that route… If he is paying to tint, just charge enough to blend it out..

thought about it joe but theres no break line on the quarter, i could roll the tape off the top of the roof line and try to get away or clear the roof and other 1/4. That would probably get me into stuff i dont want to get into on this car (it’s no virgin) Not to mention that theres no way I could match the existing texture on the panels i’m not supposed to paint  . This guy would know if I blended it. He understands a dead nuts match isnt likely, but i think i got it pretty close.

Worth a shot anyways! Make sure you get him to sign off on the color before you paint it.. That way no issues arise after its done and the bill is ready to be paid!

Ok ding time to it dirty south style. Sand part of the fender & 1/4, blow a lil color on each & then blend the clear lilke u would on a bumper spot job. Then a nice buff job should finish it out well, & deliver it wet.

Ding i think you will be real lucky to get a panel to panel on that car.

The surrounding panels dont look like they have much depth, always gonna look off on the side tone.

I dont tell my customer’s the procedures of paint matching, i just give them the price and tell them it will match.

And that way they only study the one panel when they come to collect, cause they dont know there was a minimum of three panels painted.

If he did not know you were going to blend and you did it he would probably never have noticed.

Good luck with the tinting, tinting was never a strong point of mine, in fact i am rubbish at it lol.

He didnt want it blended before he arrived at my door 😉 It’s getting sprayed tonite. We’ll see what happens :pcorn: maybe i’ll use some fc710 on it so it looks the part. or i’ll just make it look so good that he’ll have to have me do the rest of the car 👿

    lol :lol1

we had people come here and try to spot their faded paint!
with no blending, not like it matters lol… some people just don’t get it.

i would’ve blended the whole side.. wet sand it and buff it, i doubt he notices the difference. maybe? since half of the car will be looking nice and shiny lol

i wouldnt even paint that door if he didnt want any blending unless he signs for it
knowing that it won’t match.. ( i think i still blend the sides, even if he didnt want to lol )

good luck! hope all goes well.
