Hey guys… I posted awhile back (anonymously) about comparing Sikkens Autowave and Sherwin’s AWX. My name is Bruce, and this is my first post as a real person. :lol1 Thanks for all of your feedback last month. We did end up going with Sikkens in the end, and I am currently training with it. To all of you Sikkens guys on here… What is your gun of choice for spraying Superior 250 & Energy Pro 250 clears? I tried today with my Iwata LPH400 (1.3 fluid tip). But it was a bit too slow with these clears for my taste. I have the opportunity to demo a few guns, and was just looking for some suggestions. Any info would be greatly appreciated… :cheers

I use first gen sata rp,sata 3000rp,and sata 4000rp all with a 1.4 fluid tip.I have the fluid and fan controls wide open and spray at 31-33 psi about 3-4 inches from the surface with 75% overlap, close and fast baby :stoned .I’m kind of biased, been using rp’s for 9 years, before that was a sata jet90,and before that was a sata h jet,on my 3rd decade of spraying 😡 .

I have just a cross draft, so I use the energy pro 250. I use Iwata guns, it works nice with W400LV 1.3 29psi wide open, kinda slow but suits my style. Ive tried 1.3 lph400lv for smaller parts at 26psi wide open, puts it on nice but really slow.

Ive had return customers (from lst october) and have noticed energy pro holds up really nice.

Thanks Jayson… I actually tried out the Sata 3000 RP and loved it! the 4000RP is not compliant here in CA yet. I love my Iwata, but with the 2.1 VOC clears, it is just too slow, with not enough film build. I shot half a 2009 Volvo S60 today (rear half with Energy Pro 250 with the 3000RP. It came out sweet! A few dirt nibs, but the peel was perfect. Appreciate the tip… :cheers
