ok it’s my first bit of spraying really, just a small piece of side trim on a mk4 golf. is there any special way to spray this pearl or can i just paint it like normal base over a grey primer? i’m using lechler water base paint and here’s the mixing code:

also how much paint do u think i’d need to paint it, just the part on the door, not the small piece on the quarter panel, maybe 3 or 4 feet long, thin, like this:

finally on side of the car is a different shade of green than the rest. the side with the part i’m painting is a darker green than the original paint. on my system there is 4 different greens but i don’t have the colour cards to compare it to the car. the guy who previously painted it obviously didn’t either and used the wrong shade, i need to match his wrong shade! or is there any reason why his colour came out darker than the rest?

i just went for the standard colour, 50ml done it, 2 coats and a drop coat, then gave it 3 coats of clear to give me some room to sand out any dust marks.

first attempt at mixing and spraying my own paint:

i really need to build a spray booth! the dust is a killer haha! the shed is to big to wet everything lo

cheers guys, well i just realised that the system tells you if it’s a normal 3 stage pearl so tells you about the 2 coats. this is just a standard colour with pearl tinters so no problem spraying. painted with a devilbiss sri.
