thats good sounds like your jobber is a lot better then mine was it took them a month to get me 1 gun and a gun washer and they really have no clue what they are doin i feel like i know more then they do

i dont have a gun washer yet they ordered it but it didnt come in yet so weird taking a 500 dollar sata and running water threw it with a water hose i do like there computer system the color proofing and the amount you mix screen is cool and the color eye camera works purty good but if the big shop cant get it togather it wont last long be back to solvent dont matter to me either way

Yea I will say the computer system is pretty cool but the color chips I’ve found don’t match what u spray and that’s not good if u want to go by chips Do u have the new camera or the older one
I agree I’m 28 and I don’t know anyone in this business younger then I am and if the r they don’t want to do it for long they say it’s to much work or to hot and do nothing but complain I keep telling the guys that come in u have to earn respect and work ur way up but they don’t want to and just wan to start making big money just starting out And they don’t know how to do anything
Sounds like everyone these days no one wants to work just run there mouth and take home 1000 a week working 40hrs.
I’m 28 and own my own shop and have handful of guys that work for me all younger, started over 6 years ago, by myself and now have a 8000sq shop, down draft booth.

dont know if it the new camera or the old one and yeahthe color decks dont match some of the onesive lookedatthepaint isall funky looking on them i sure hope we dont have a peeling problem like some of the other post ive read about

    October 19, 2012 at 4:54 pm #38696

I haven’t had any peeling problems mainly color match and if u don’t put the activator in the base it’s a pain in the ass to sand and fix it in the booth the new camera is the acquire plus efx and the older one is the acquire rx I keep hearing the new camera is a little better cause is measures the flake size which really helps .

Zero sounds like ur doin pretty good people like u r the ones u have a lot of respect for cause u work ur ass off to make a name for ur self and try to relie of someone else

Some things to try to help u if ur having any issues blending mix 3 parts blender 1 part controlle and 1 part base that helps me with hard colors to blend and another thing is if ur having trouble keeping the wet bed wet they should have an additive to add to it so it will stay wet a little longer an calibrate ur camera every day not once a week or once a month and change batteries once a month if u need any help I’ll try to help best I can

    October 20, 2012 at 1:49 am #38705

well then i have the new one it reads the flake only time i used the hardner in the base was on a 3stage pearl have to put hardner inthe ground coat we used the camera on it and read it like it was solid color and used the standard pearl workedreally good

    October 20, 2012 at 2:47 am #38706

Yea it’s has it’s pros and cons some big things I’ve found out is with white don’t load it up u need to do like 3 to 4 coats at about 10 inches away if not it will fisheye the clear real bad and same with straight black the base will fisheye not the clear with black and don’t run the base if u do might as well just wipe it off and start over

    October 20, 2012 at 3:16 am #38707

cool i will remember that i havnt had trouble blending it yet but im sure i will have some colors harder to blend out i put the slower adjuster in the color blender to slow it down i just dont like pileing the base on like they want you to do iti trieddoin a blend like they recomend i found it way easier to do it like i have allways done it cover my blend panelsup color my panels uncover the blend panels spray the blender on it blend color way easier for methey wanted meto do the blends 1st then color the panels both ways work just easier for me the other way

    October 20, 2012 at 3:37 am #38708

Yea they want u to spray it completely back asswards and it works both ways and on ur 3 stages mix like 5 to 10 percent base to like 75 to 80 percent pearl and put maybe 5 to 10 percent blender and it helps a lot with blending ur ground coat yea I cant stand how they want u to hammer the base and to me it’s seems to use more base per job then with solvent how has ur dry times been with standoblue

    October 20, 2012 at 3:31 pm #38714

its been takin about 15 min to dry it but our humidity has not been high around 20 to 30 % and i had to bump heat in booth up to about 85

    October 20, 2012 at 5:09 pm #38715

Where I live the humidity is bad year round it stay around 30 percent and up very rarely gets under 20 percent And I usually have to bake the base for at least 10 minutes at 170 and sometimes it still isn’t dry
