    Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to resurface an edge of a fiberglass panel that mates against another panel. Both panels are rough on the edges and don’t match yet they are already flanged. I keep filling, sanding, filling sanding but I can’t get them perfect as they are not straight panels they have curve to them.
The only things I can think of are putting filling on them then placing them together then pulling them apart before they dry but it still doesn’t turn out perfect.
I’ve thought of permanently bonding them then cutting them apart again but they are already flanged so I didn’t think it would work out.
I’m mainly wondering what the best way to go about doing this as I have A LOT of this to do on my new fiberglass car body.

    Thanks

Can you post a picture of the problem area?

Fiberglass can be easy to work, but more often than not, prefabricated fiberglass parts are junk and are rarely straight/fit well.

Yes, a picture would definitely help.

Butting the two panels together and filling at the same time ought to work. Cut down the gap between them with a sharp blade once the filler has started to gel and reached the rubbery stage. You should then be able to let it harden fully and pull the two pieces apart.
