November 7, 2008 at 4:23 am #11766wow bondo youre really going all out their ya gonna gonna cut it down with 180 an reprime with some urethane now??? that g2 has no problem fill an 80 grit scratch;)
November 7, 2008 at 5:14 am #11767Yeah brother gonna cut it with 150, then buzz that with some P400 on a DA with a soft interface pad and put this baby in 2k.. then he can pay me tomorrow for at least this fender.. He may want me to stop when he see’s the bill for this one..
I quoted this job at $150 plus materials.. I thought it sounded better to him as it was under 200 but I knew the materials could easily add up to 50 bucks or possibly more, so I knew I would make at a bare minimum 150 for myself.. Don’t think he can hardly complain for that price anyways..He stopped in yesterday in the middle of the afternoon as I was sanding my sculpture.. He had a big surprised look in his eye when he saw the sea of mud:ohmy: , but I reminded him that he was paying for this type of job.. he agreed.. He still looked kind of freaked out with all that mud on there:huh:
Does my procedures seem excessive bondo?? On show work I always prime, block with 180/150 re prime probably block with 180/150 again, then if it is straight as a board I will re prime and block with 320 before my sealer.. This one will just get one final blocking of the poly and then it goes in 2k.. He can sand it before he paints it later.. Plus i don’t have to concern myself with a sealer either.. I have always found a couple prime and blocking sessions can make or break a paint job.. This is really evident when you are going for that show finish in the paint.. any little thing being off is magnified greatly

I buzzed over the 180 grit scratches with a P400 3m disk on a DA with the soft interface pad.. Sprayed 2 coats of Transtar Kwik Prime I wanted to finish off..hope it does not all shrink up on me this time:laugh::laugh:
