I’m trying to Brainstorm some Idea’s for a project car so shout em out if ya got em. I want to pick up an old tin can and transform it into something else, weld on / build new style lines , shave lines, change em..etc My current plan is picking up a small car, maybe a Dodge Shadow being the first car I ever owned and go nuts. I like the round wheel lines like you’d find on a Mazda RX8 like this:

So I want to incorperate that into the design. I want to look for a cheap car too so if it doesn’t pan out I won’t feel bad throwing it in the dumpster. I am shooting for a start date after the winter as I will do most of the work at my house rather then the shop. Anyhow, let me know what you think. The intention is to have a really unique, funky car and to advertise at some car shows.

why cant i help but think that means a cold air intake :rofl :roflDecember 21, 2009 at 2:57 am #18119I say do something popular,, easy to get parts for,, that you may actually be able to sell without loosing your @$$ when the time comes.
Do a fox body mustang and widen the fenders like an IMSA car.
A 3 series bimmer would look nice with the same treatment.
Do a civic but make it classy not wild.
VW GTI, make it subtle on the exterior and clean up the engine bay …..
Maybe a kit car based off a miata,,,
I think the quality of construction and attention to the details is what sets something apart from the crowd, more so than just making something wild.

I agree with Bloverby. Get something that won’t take an act of god to make it look cool. Start with some simpler body mods and go for quality. If you start to extravagant on your first one you will have a better chance of it being a bad experience. The more you do it the better you will get and the more you will be able to do.
Don’t make it a Waldo Mustang and never get it done! :rofl
December 21, 2009 at 6:15 am #18134The mods don’t have to be to the exterior…..

AnonymousDecember 21, 2009 at 6:35 am #18137Thanks, gives me a few things to think about. One other thought I’m entertaining is a kit car. Anybody have experience with full body coversion kits, if so where to buy.
December 21, 2009 at 6:54 am #18140I never quite understood this one.
