I have one. Pretty nice gun. I use it for waterborne basecoat. I have used it for clear also with good results.
The only aircap worth having is the 7E7. The other two suck. Mine came with a 1.2 and 1.3 nozzle and I bought a 1.4. Replacements are cheap, the nozzle is around $100. With the 7E7 it sprays alot like my RP. Not quite as good but very close.
October 29, 2010 at 5:40 pm #24782It’s the only setup I would consider for water. The other aircaps dont atomize very good at all. That may work with solvent base but not as well with water. The 7E7 works best for water. I dont know of anyone who actually uses the other aircaps.
i won a tekna last year off this site and ive been using it with the 7e7 cap since. i havent used it for water yet but ive used it for color and clear without any disappointment yet. its actually the best gun ive used and before i bought an rp i was considering buying a second one. i tried the 909 air cap a couple times but the 7E7 works better in my perspective. its definitely worth its price tag. the only thing id do is ditch the cup and get a dekups system for it instead. i think i have an old thread about it.
