Hey guys, I’m going to be adding a tekna to my collection pretty soon and I want to know what setup I should order? I work out in Southern California so it it rarely gets cold here. My question is which air caps should I get? We use ppgs omni and envirobase for base and omni clear. Also what tip size?
June 24, 2014 at 2:16 am #46868i think the pro lite comes with three tips an 2 caps ….my son has been getting a really nice finish with the 1.4 an te20 aircap uses it for both base an clear
In Europe we don’t have Tekna, but it is the same gun – Devilbiss GTI Pro Lite. This gun gives the possibility to adjust your spray pattern according to the environment. In California you probably use waterborne paints. If you have high humidity, the atmosphere slow the drying time, so it is better to select higher flow air cap. If you are using TE20 for instance, move up to HV30 in order to provide drier application. Concerning fluid tip, as the temperature increases, drying times are reduced, so you may need to select a larger fluid tip for increased paint flow, together with an air cap with a lower air flow to achieve a wetter application.
I hope it helps.- AuthorPosts
