I have the Devilbiss liners, and they work, but they’re pretty ghetto. I plan to get some PPS cups, or whatever the cheaper version of them is that somebody mentioned here a while back.

I’ll still use the bags for spraying contact cement and primers

    Nelson,

How are the bags ghetto? they work each and everytime for me.:rock

they’re not near as clean to setup and use as a disposable cup with a liner, but they do work.

it’s the cheapo method. that’s why I chose them in the first place :dnc

I’d have to say, for the small jobs I do, I can’t see myself buying PPS, the liners work just fine.

I even save the tip and buy zip block pags for primer, works perfect.

I’ve got the sata rps system. which are way too expensive imo.
and altough they work as they should, cleaning wise I don’t feel I save too much time.
the cups the easy part to clean. it just takes a little more solvent. and I usually wipe my cups out with used solvent anyways.
personally don’t use them on anything but my clears.

You cant go wrong with PPS

    January 6, 2011 at 9:20 am #26861

i have the Sata RPS cups and the Devilbiss Dekups and im looking at trying the Gerson PPS

As For the RPS cups I like them but the down side is there is no liner
and the dekups are nice but I hate you have to have an extra frame and lid if you want to store your unused paint if you dont want to be all limp on the shelf (nothing to hold it together)

and the gerson system seems to be the middle ground has a seperate locking ring so it can be just the liner and lid locked together with out the frame
and if you want to use it with the frame its your option to .

check out lilds lil southern comfort video and you can see what im talking about he has some but the name is different.

also the RPS cups cost about $1.80 to $2.00US a cup
the devilbiss cost about $0. 75US for the lid and liner( has to be used with frame and Lid
and the Gerson is $1.70US for lid with built in filter, Lock ring, liner ( can be used with frame)
the bag system that you mentioned is like $0.25 ea

    your cost may be cheaper

Gershon! that’s the one. cheaper version of PPS. that’s what I’ll get, as soon as I get the disposable primer gun from 3m.

    January 6, 2011 at 9:27 pm #26867

yep Gerson is cheaper but I think its better than the 3m system
