Well only after fitting the wing/fender to a car i painted when i brought it out into the sun light the edge of the wing where it meets the bonnet/hood didn’t get full coverage. it’s a very small area but it’s noticeable. is there anything i can do to fix it without recolouring it and clearing the whole panel??

Your answer is in that statement.March 23, 2013 at 5:58 pm #42373well i’ve based over the edge to cover it. i’m wondering will i have to clear the whole panel?
March 23, 2013 at 6:23 pm #42375Probably just as handy to do so you could do a blend on a swage line with fade out but if you never done it b4 best to just re clear whole panel.
It is possible to do localised repair probably even easier to get really good blend on your fresh clear from before using fade out and let go rock hard before you polish the blend but I think there is nack to it and is best practiced on other older cars/vans.
That’s a rather retro solution bill lol been there done that on old cars heading to auction back in the day
March 23, 2013 at 7:05 pm #42376cheers for the replies guys, i recleared the whole panel, and to say i’m happy is an understatement! after such a terrible finish before, this is a big improvement. changed to the 1.3 tip, used a slower hardener and layed on the clear a lot heavier

March 24, 2013 at 1:28 pm #42391Hey we’ve all been chatting bout the 3m sun gun. If you go on my thread (fixing the both) there’s links and ideas on the 3m sungun. Ideas on how to make a home made on it buying one for £65 and not £400. Through you might want to look at it as I’m making one know as my boss won’t buy one for the painters 🙂

ya i put up the link for u. the guy i worked with before was just after spending big dollar on a 3m one and then i told him u could build one for peanuts! but ya i think the cheap one would be a great investment. i’m also gonna change all my bulbs for daylight coloured ones.
