Just showing the latest job, never seen a hit this bad at the rear. It skimmed the top of the re-bar and just kept going. She’s a fixer , $11,000 initial estimate. Brand new 09 Mazda

Seems like how this 68 must’ve looked. It got a real shitty exterior panel job done (Taillight panel, Quarters, Doors, Fenders.) But they did nothing more than a shitty pull job on any of the underside/frame/floors.
And whole frame of the car was way off.
Nearly 2 inches short on one side. about an inch up on the other. And it seems like no matter how deep I get into it I just seem to be getting more and more crush damage.
Started up as the Rear Frame and trunk floors.
Now I’m all the way to the front floor pans. :unsure:August 27, 2009 at 3:25 am #15550Out of curiosity, what would profit be on a repair like that? And, why wouldn’t that be totaled? It can’t be more than a 20k car that will be worth a fraction of that after being tagged with a wreck.

AnonymousOctober 21, 2009 at 3:16 am #16505Thought I should post an update since I finally have one. We had waited since the time I posted this (about a month and a half) for a backordered part….it turned out to be the wrong part and the right one was in over night!…grrr!! We wanted the shelf panel that goes between the two quarters in front of the trunk and were sent the interior trim parcel instead. After waiting we found the metal part was in stock over night. Here is where I am now, just primed it and cut in the jambs a few minutes ago:

AnonymousOctober 21, 2009 at 4:32 am #16512It’s something we bought off a guy that comes buy towing a trailer full of stuff. Don’t remember the exact brand, will have to look. I know it’s some sort of Norton affiliate / line, really nice paper….good for waterborne too.
