Rainy, foggy, downtown construction. Was exiting the parking lot of office depot and took the high end of a curb that was too high…long story short I now have an annoying dent in my rear floor pan…can’t really tell but my rear valence slightly bends up where the impact was (no clips or plastic was cracked on valence, just scratches)
I checked to see if there was any other damage, and the only other area I could see was some some scratches on the front strut assembly bar. Aside from that, nothing else, whew. Sounded a lot worse than it was. I’ll be taking it to the dealer for a checkup though (Audi A5) to make sure as well as for the alignment.
The rear floor pan holds the spare tire and battery underneath. Outside has the rubbery foam, inside is sheet metal. It slightly bends upward where the impact was. From the outside its hard to tell unless you look underneath, you’ll see scratches and the one bolt that caught on the curb and dented the pan.
My question: can a body shop just hammer out the dent and respray some foam coating on the bottom? I know this is not a major collision but was just hoping for some advice. Thank you!
