I just painted a VW Bug …dissasembled and painted, then reassembled. I made sure to use enough base to get good coverage, like 5 coats. Funny thing though. Some parts came out slicker than others. I painted at seperate times. Perhaps I used a different brand reducer, but everything else the same. QUESTION…. Does it make any difference with the economy reducer compared to a premium? In you experinces? Thnks Bill

Yes, high grade solvents are expensive. Typically the cheaper it is the faster it is.

The old saying still holds true, you get what you pay for.

5 coats of base is quite a bit of material and a ton of solvents. Why didn’t you use a tinted sealer or a dark gray to make life easier and allow faster coverage?Ryan is right you do get what you pay for with paint.

There u go, u answered u own question. Painted parts @ different times. Most likely, u used different psi when painting. Maybe some parts u didnt use enough reducer.
