I just painted a VW Bug …dissasembled and painted, then reassembled. I made sure to use enough base to get good coverage, like 5 coats. Funny thing though. Some parts came out slicker than others. I painted at seperate times. Perhaps I used a different brand reducer, but everything else the same. QUESTION…. Does it make any difference with the economy reducer compared to a premium? In you experinces? Thnks Bill

The old saying still holds true, you get what you pay for.
September 25, 2012 at 3:02 am #383675 coats of base is quite a bit of material and a ton of solvents. Why didn’t you use a tinted sealer or a dark gray to make life easier and allow faster coverage?Ryan is right you do get what you pay for with paint.
