Thanks for the link dag, hopefully it helps me put the sunroof back together. Everything else seems pretty simple on the car. Just set up an open bar and me n’ bondo will be down to give you a hand. Just let me just make sure were talking the same Democrat Republic of Congo… that’s just a few blocks east of Canada right?

I think that is an American sunroof corporation sun roof

Watch out with it and every piece on it You really are dealing with extremely rare pieces!
I have an American Sunroof in my 72 Charger, Parts are so rare for them they are worth more than there weight in GOLD! :S ask me how I know? My car size stands alone almost they only put it in a few cars.

The good thing is there are a few parts around still all though extremely hard to find and finding some one who actually knows how to work on them even fewer.
Don’t bother calling the existing American sunroof corporation they do not make parts or support the old roofs at all and refuse too.

I may have a contact for a guy in AZ that may have parts.

Trouble with any of these factory sunroof cars is they had to leave the factory while being built prior to 1973 to go to American sunroof corporation to have the roof put in.
After 73 they had kits the factory could do them selves and quantity’s went way up and parts are easier to get but they are different roofs with different parts than earlier models

Nothing really to update on. Another guy is gonna take pictures for me but I’m sure it’s just cutting and welding in patches for a few days. It’s all blasted, about 10 patches to weld in then its a mudfest.

I would really love too see the patches going in and how you guys do it please!

Just wanted to mention that there is some sorta good news for anyone following the volvo restoration blog. The shop has been really busy with collision work while I’ve been on holidays and nobody has even had a chance to touch it. Bad news for me I guess! So anyone following won’t miss anything.

I figured when you got back it would be all done and gone at the pace you guys were going!

What happened with the Sun roof?
I seen they were basting it and around it (BAD idea!) If sand gets into those Aluminum cable guides it will eat them to shreds. Wont be too nice to drive gear either.
Was that an Electric one or Hand crank?
    Would it work at all?
