Looking for opinions here. Sometimes I feel like I’m crawling with my Sata 3000RP. It has the 1.2 tip.

The 1.2 is the problem, what size tip does the material your using call for?

Not necessarily. What product are you spraying with it?

If it is clear maybe try turning the psi down a bit or slowing the solvents down in the paint.

For sealer Smooth is right a 1.2 is too small.

For base it depends on water or solvent and conditions.

Thought I asked him what material he was using, in another thread I thought he said it was for clear.

I guess I should have been more specific, what specific clear are you using BBB?

I would tend to agree with smooth that a 1.2 is too small for alot of clears but with some adjustment it should work fine. Problem is most guys just set the gun at whatever max psi is and go for it.

I really liked a 3000 RP with a 1.2 when I sprayed Spies clears but different clears not as much.

Im using it for clear only. I’m spraying PPGs shop line 620 and may be getting into some transtars soon…

Try bumping the tip size up to a 1.3 or like ryan said try slowing down the solvents ( hardener/activator,thinner selection) personally I would try both.

Excellent advice so far,you could also jump right to a 1.4 if you are looking for speed.

Try a 1.3 in it. Works great for me

I use a SATA NR2000 1.3 and have for years. I thought about changing but it lays the clear down just the way I like it.

I used the 3000RP for years with a 1.3 tip at 35psi stick that 3.5-4 inches away from your panel and you will get all the material and speed you will need . 😛

I agree the Sata can put out material faster, I`ve always preferred it to the Tekna. If you equip both with a 1.3 the Sata will put it out quicker, go through a bit more material i find also….but still my favorite gun, it lets you push a fast clear a little further.
